Congratulations to senior, Hailey Spitler on being named The Flyer athlete of the month! Spitler plays for Fairmont varsity softball as a pitcher and centerfield. Spitler has been playing softball for about 10 years, and has loved every minute of it.

“I wanted to first start playing because I wanted to learn how to pitch so my dad signed me up,” Spitler said.

Spitler will be attending Converse College to play softball. “My plan has always been to play at the collegiate level. I watched college softball growing up, which helped motivate this goal,” Spitler said.

Spitler has learned valuable things while being apart of athletics. “Being apart of athletics has helped me learn to have patience and it has also taught me how to win or lose with grace and be humble,” Spitler said.
