The Flyer’s October Musician of the Month award goes to Senior Nick Weissman.
“Music is very important in my life. I do music every day in some form be it piano lessons, DPYO, band class, or marching band,” Weissman said.
Weissman is in the highest band class at Fairmont and takes great pride in his involvement and achievements here.
“I like being able to play with the best musicians at Fairmont,” Weissman said.
Being the top musician can be very challenging. The expectations are high and with that comes a great deal of preparation and commitment.
“My most challenging moment is happening right now as I prepare for my IB music solo recital where I must play 20 minutes of solo music,” he said.
When first starting out, music can be pretty hard to learn. Weissman speaks from experience and uses his personal experiences to help others.
“I would tell them to never give up. It can be difficult at times but if you push through it will be better in the end,” he said.
