Scholarship to honor counselor’s memory now accepting donations

Bill Linesch, the Kettering Education Foundation, and the Dayton Foundation are now accepting donations to the Cheryl Abraham Scholarship Fund for students of Fairmont High School.

Linesch, Abraham’s husband, has worked with both foundations to create this memorial scholarship in her name. Abraham, who lost her battle with cancer on Oct. 7, 2014, had dedicated her life to helping students navigate their way to choices that would positively shape their futures. She worked hard to create opportunities for students to succeed at Fairmont and was a tireless advocate for students whose life path was often not straight or clear.

The scholarship will be awarded annually to a student who has overcome personal, environmental or other challenges and needs a helping hand to pursue his or her college goal. To kick-start the fund, the Abraham-Linesch family has pledged to match all contributions to the fund up to $5,000. Tax-deductible donations can be made to the Dayton Foundation at 40 N. Main St., Suite 500, in Dayton, Ohio 45423.
