Moore and Monbeck place first in Poetry Slam

In early January, the Univeristy of Dayton held their first Poetry Slam. Fairmont High School senior Zimir Moore competed alongside the university’s professors, students as well as community members. Moore was the only high school student to compete in the competition, and he won the entire event. In February’s Poetry Slam, again held at the University of Dayton, Fairmont senior Indigo Monbeck competed. At the event, Monbeck was once again the youngest person to compete. Monbeck competed strongly, and took home first prize.
