Save your money; 3D movies are a scam

3D movies: They have really taken off in the last couple of years. Quite a few movies are now offered in both 2D and 3D. People are naturally drawn to 3D, that pop-out effect. But are the 3D movies being produced everything it is said to be?

Have you ever noticed how pricy 3D movies are? I sure have, and I’m positive that I’m not the only one. Did you know that there is a $3.50 price difference? I could buy a regular ticket and a pack of candy with that money. I just feel that the experience that you have and the quality of the movie should determine the price. The better the quality, the higher the price.

When I think of 3D movies I picture myself as being a part of the movie. Being able to touch the butterfly that’s flying right towards me or having lasers shot at me in the middle of an inter-galactic war. But the 3D movies that I have seen all have really poor quality. I rarely see the promised pop-out effect in the movies and when I do, it tends to be in only one or two scenes, sometimes there are no 3D effects in the 3D movie and it is just a fuzzy red and blue screen.

I feel like the filmmakers are just rushing through the movie and advertising it as 3D so that they can make a couple extra bucks.

That is just so sad and wrong.

Making the decision on whether or not to go see a movie in 3D can be tough. The commercial previews for the movie aren’t in 3D so how are you supposed to know if it will be in good quality.

It is just better to play it safe and stick to 2D. It is cheaper, nice quality, and you have an idea of what kind of experience that you will be getting.
