Track & Field sprints into 2012 season

Fairmont’s 2012 Track & Field team has competed twice this season, but the first home meet will take place on Thursday, April 5. The event is the Endurance Sports Meet and it begins at 4:45 p.m.

Head Coach Pat Miller is looking forward to a solid season. “We’re looking for big things from the girls’ program,” he said. “The boys will be fighting for some individual honors.”

The girls are looking for good results from juniors Justine Miller and Natalie Uy, while the boys need successful seasons from junior Danny Sales and seniors Jake Gentile and Jeff Bruns.

The team had their first meet March 24 at the Northmont Invitational. The Girls’ relay team, consisting of freshmen Olivia Davis, Sarah Grossman and Evan Bartlett and junior Justine Miller, performed exceptionally well, taking first in the 4×100 relay and second in the 4×200 and 4×400 relays.

The second meet was March 31 at Tipp City.
