The South Suburban Coalition, an organization that promotes being drug- and alcohol-free, is teaming up with Fairmont High School’s Students Against Drunk Driving program, along with Centerville, Oakwood, Miamisburg, West Carrollton and Alter, for a “Battle of the Schools.”

The “Battle of the Schools” is an evening where teenagers can hang out and participate in activities in a drug- and alcohol-free environment. These activities include a pie-eating contest, tug-o-war, corn hole, obstacle course competitions, booths, activities, public speakers and a Battle of the Bands contest among the school.

The event will take place Friday, May 11, 2012,  from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Fairmont Soccer Stadium. If the weather should not permit, the event will be held in Fairmont’s Trent Arena.

“I think it’s going to be an awesome night with really great bands from the area,” said S.A.D.D. Adviser Rebecca Veneman. “It’ll be a lot of fun, and there’ll be students from all over the Dayton area. Everyone should come check it out!”
