Students have passion for Poetry Out Loud

Students interested in poetry can compete in the annual Poetry Out Loud recitation contest. Students prepare two poems to recite before a panel of Fairmont teachers. One winner will be a representative for Fairmont and compete at the state level in March with other students from Ohio for a chance to perform in Washington D.C. and win prizes, which include a $20,000 college scholarship. A meeting will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 24 in Room 130 after school. For additional information see Penni Meyer in Room 218 or Darren McGarvey in Room 130.
