Farmers Insurance and the Fairmont Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball teams are holding a contest that will give one lucky fan the chance to win $50,000.
At each Boys’ and Girls’ Varsity home game (non-tournament), tickets will be sold for $1 each or 6 for $5. Three contestants will be drawn at the end of the first quarter to participate in a half-time contest, which Athletic Director Brian Donoher says might be something like putting on a uniform and running to half court.
The winner of each contest will qualify for the $50,000 Challenge, which will take place at the last Boys’ Varsity regular season game at Trent Arena. This event it sponsored by Farmers Insurance agents Jim Berlon and Eric Haueter. All proceeds from tickets sold will benefit the Fairmont Athletic Boosters.
20 chances to win and qualify
Participants cannot be a current or former professional, semi-professional or Olympic basketball player.
Participants cannot be a current or former collegiate or high school basketball player, including Freshman, Junior Varsity and Varsity (both men and women players who have played at that level in the last five years).
All three contestants at the home game will win a prize.
The winning contestant can only qualify once for the Challenge.
