Homecoming King and Queen announced

Fairmont seniors Ryan Rice and Kendall Young were crowned Homecoming King and Queen on Friday, Sept. 19, just before the Fairmont football team played Lebanon High School in the Homecoming game. Fairmont lost by a score of 40-29.

In addition to the King and Queen, the Homecoming Court featured the Ladies of the Court – Mia Balsamo, Holly Carey, Ali Chabut, Bethany Cushman, Emily Miller and Christina Olgiate. The Gentlemen of the Court were Joey Bucaro, Brendon Cunningham, Mike Herman, Alex Lilley, Bobby Symes and Ben Victor.

The night after the football game, the USB hosted a Mardi Gras-themed Homecoming Dance from 8 to 11 p.m. in Trent Arena. The concourse was decorated with Mardi Gras decorations, and students were handed beads as they were admitted to the dance. Professional photographers also set up shop and parents handed out concessions to thirsty dancers.

More than 1,500 people enjoyed the New Orleans vibe that accompanied this year’s Homecoming Dance, organized by USB member Liz Shine.
