By Kaylee Anstaett, Fairmont Life Editor

Congratulations to senior, Jack Hendricks on being The Flyer’s athlete of the month for February. Jack is a shooting guard on the boys’ varsity basketball team. He is currently averaging 16.5 points per game and shooting an outstanding 41.2% from behind the arc. Earlier this season, he connected on 14 threes in a single game, tallying a school-record 52 points and leading his team to a victory against Indianapolis Washington 117-64.

“It was crazy because all of my teammates were hyping me up when I got the record,” Hendricks said.

Hendricks has been playing basketball for 13 years. Now in his senior season, he can reflect back on how it all started for him.

“I first started playing because I had a hoop at my house and I liked to play,” Hendricks said.

Being involved with athletics had helped him learn many things such as teamwork and has helped him meet many new people along the way.
