Congratulations to junior, Jesse Deglow on being named our October athlete of the month. Jesse is a running back for the varsity football team. The Birds are currently 6-2 on the season, and Deglow has played a major contributing role in those 6 wins. He is currently 9th in the GWOC (Greater Western Ohio Conference) in rushing yards.
Football has greatly impacted his life and taught him how to manage and deal with adversity.
“It has taught me how to work with others, become tough, overcome and persevere and to develop a great work ethic,” Deglow said.
Before the season ends, Deglow hopes to win a championship and have no regrets about the season.

What made you first start playing? Watching football on TV
What advice would you give to student-athletes? Strive to be the best at what you do, and do not be selfish.
What is your proudest moment as an athlete? Beating Alter after 13 years, and scoring four touchdowns with 100+ yards in back to back games.
What has been one of the most challenging things throughout your athletic career? Overcoming the injuries I have suffered in the past.
