Congratulations to junior soccer player Hunter Haas, on being named The Flyer’s September athlete of the month. Haas plays varsity soccer for the Firebirds. He is a member of an elite club team, ranking 6th in the nation. Being an athlete has helped him make friends from all over the state of Ohio.
He hopes to have soccer opportunities at the collegiate level. Haas would advise other athletes to always do their best in whatever you are involved in.
“Try your hardest and never give up,” Haas said.
Haas’s goals for the rest of the season are to win GWOC, make it to regionals, and to have 12 goals this season.
Being a varsity athlete is not easy. It takes commitment and great time management to be successful on the field and in the classroom.
“The most challenging thing about being an athlete is to balance school and soccer and to play at my highest ability,” Haas said.
