September’s Student of the month is senior Claire Sullivan. Sullivan is taking several advanced classes and has a 4.0 GPA. She thinks that having a rigorous course schedule is important for high school students because it challenges you. Also, it can help you decide what subjects you want to pursue after high school and what career field you want to enter.

What is your favorite subject? Math

What is your goal for this year? My goal is to get my IB diploma.

What other activities do you participate in and out of school? Dayton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (DPYO), NHS, and church youth group.

What drives you to do well in school? I just like to learn. Plus I am a perfectionist so I can obsess over my grades sometimes. I want to get into a really good school and possibly shoot for being valedictorian or salutatorian, so that keeps me motivated.

Do you have plans to go to a specific college if so, do you know what you want to study? I have no clue what I want to do, but I love Georgetown University in Washington D.C.

Congratulations Claire! Keep up the good work!
