The Flyer

My name is Sophie Lockhart, and this is my first year on The Flyer staff. When I’m not frolicking through meadows chasing butterflies, I like to make YouTube videos that nobody watches, write songs that nobody listens to, and put together 250-word biographies that nobody reads. My friends say I’m anti-social. I bet it’s because I spend more time playing my guitar than eating or sleeping, but that’s beside the point.

I’m a senior Firebird and I like to march in that band thing and improvise in that jazz thing with this thing they call a saxophone. I’m also in National Honor Society, and I’m really involved in my church. I even get to sing at my church sometimes, the same way I get to sing in the Fairmont Talent Show every year.

I believe that life is too short, so you should do the things you love now instead of waiting until it’s too late. Maybe that’s why I’m in all these different bands and groups and such. Or, maybe my friends are right and I’m just anti-social.

Either way, smiling is my favorite thing, and I think everyone should smile whenever they get the chance. I think everyone should laugh whenever they get the chance, too. Singing is also acceptable.

I’m excited to be a part of the Fairmont Flyer staff, and I can’t wait to see what this year has in store!
