Trump wins 2016 presidential election

Last night, Americans eagerly awaited until almost 3:00 a.m. to find out who would reign victorious in the election and become the 45th president of the United States.

Presidential candidate, Donald Trump, shocked viewers in defeating opponent Hillary Clinton with 279 electoral votes to Clinton’s 228. Before the votes were tallied, an overwhelming amount of polls predicted Clinton to win over Trump. Clinton also came out on top with the popular vote, holding 59,462,301 votes to Trump’s 59,272,991.

Trump becomes the first U.S. president in history without any prior military or political experience. Trump is scheduled to be inaugurated on January 20th, 2017.
