Many stores have opened and closed at The Greene, but the new boutique, Altar’d State, is an up and coming establishment ready to set trends in Montgomery County. The christian-based boutique “offers a place of respite and a distinctive shopping experience with the latest fashion finds, the most sought-after accessories and charming home décor and gifts,” according to The Greene’s website.

The boutique supports a mission of standing out for the good in the world. From the first day Altar’d State opened, they have always connected retail with goodwill through efforts ranging from donations in local communities, offering a generous volunteer program for employees and funding “child-focused” as stated in their mission statement. They have global initiatives that support social development efforts in undeserved areas in Peru as well.

Founders Aaron Walters and Brian Mason met while working at a large clothing chain in Knoxville, Tennessee. The clothing chain got shut down from bankruptcy and the two men separated. They finally met in Bentonville, Arkansas and talked about a business plan for a company with a mission of giving back and offering a shopping experience like no other. They are currently looking for employees that are 18 years or older and available to work for $9.25 an hour.
