Allied Health and Biotechnology programs win at state competition

In mid-March, 24 students from Fairmont’s Allied Health and Biotechnology Career Tech programs participated in the HOSA State Competition in Plain City, Ohio, and 10 of them placed in the top three in their events.

Fairmont junior Hope Ewing placed first in Veterinary Medicine, and junior Nicole Kollars placed first in Healthcare Issues.

Juniors Aubrey Higgins and Joni Pittman placed second in Forensic Medicine, and junior Mikalah Wilcher placed second in Clinical Speciality.

The third-place finishers were junior Taylor Blankenship (Epidemiology); junior Hanna Blevins (Veterinary Science); and juniors Maggie Downing, Sammi Jeckering and Joe Pokorski (Creative Problem Solving).
