Drug dogs sniff out Fairmont

On Aug. 29, 2012, the Kettering Police Department drug dogs made their first appearance of the year at Fairmont High School. The search by the police and dogs occurred during a state-mandated lockdown drill at the high school.

During second period, five drug dog units searched about 2,000 lockers, 600 cars, 2 classrooms, and 100 books bags. Principal Dan VonHandorf said there were no incidents in the building and only one in the parking lot.

“We did the test during the lockdown because we wanted to try to make disruptions as minimal as possible,” said VonHandorf.
