National Honor Society passes the torch to 53 new members

 The National Honor Society inducted 53 juniors at a ceremony on May 12 in Fairmont’s auditorium. Senior orchestra NHS members performed the processional as the inductees joined their family and friends in the auditorium. Seniors Destre Inlow, Sarah Bostic, Rachel Sales, Ashley Cooper and Sarah Lamb also added musical performances to the night. The keynote speaker at this ceremony was orchestra director Richard Wright. Winners of the Penni Meyer Cornerstone awards also gave speeches: Jessica Wuensch on service; Corrin Herrick on scholarship; Monica Wagner, who also won the Medal of Honor essay contest, on character; and Paqui Toscano on leadership.

The 2011-2012 NHS members are Kelsey Albright, James Arnold, Natalie Babbitt, Rebecca Barnett, Joseph Barton, John Borger, Jeff Bruns, Megan Butler, Sean Cassidy, Alicia Clark, Adam Donovan, McKenzie Dorman, Matthew Ebersbach, Lexi Fannin, Edward Fleitz, Taylor Gruhl, Caitlin Hageman, Corinn Herrick, Alexander Herzog, Jacob Hesse, Rachel Hester, Rachel Hock, Benjamin Hodapp, Heather Hutchinson, Zachary Jarrell, Brittany Johns, Jaimi Jutras, Justin Kihn, Thomas Kimbrell, Jeffrey Kremer, Nicholas Lynch-Voris, Mary Kate MacLean, Elizabeth Mercer, Alyson Miller, Sarah Miller, Katherine Molnar, Jacob Nickel, Rebekkah O’Beollain, Kevin O’Donnell, Brendalyn Perley, Alexander Robeson, Ariana Ruiz, Sumayyah Shermadou, Matthew Silverman, Anna Smith, Samantha Stephens, Paqui Toscano, Ashley Voskuhl, Monica Wagner, Melanie West, Allison White, Jessica Wuensch and Caroline Zhang.
