Art Department offers new $1,000 scholarship

The Fairmont Art Department is offering a brand new art scholarship for a graduating senior this year. The Fred VonGruenigen Scholarship will be awarded annually to the “Best Art Student” planning on pursuing a career in art. The scholarship is for $1,000.

Fred VonGruenigen was a teacher and the art coordinator of Kettering Schools and is recognized in the Roush Hall of Fame. VonGruenigen’s family donated the scholarship money in his honor.

Applications may be obtained from Art Department Chair Susan Bennett in Room 204 or online. Applications are due April 11.
