Fairmont High School is one of the many schools in Ohio and throughout the country looking to win the Stumps “Proms Across America” contest. The winner in each state will receive $10,000 to put toward their school prom.
“Winning this contest would basically pay for Fairmont’s whole prom. Usually we have fund raisers and ticket sales to finance our prom,” said Joe Amstutz, the Junior Class Council adviser. “Also, any money left over would be given to the Junior Class Council, who would most likely use it to help Fairmont in Spirit Chain next year.”
In addition to the main prize, three schools in each state will receive a prize of $5,000 to use on their school’s prom. Fifty-one runners-up prize winners can win $1,000.
The winning schools are determined by online voting. For more information or to vote, click HERE.
