Marching Firebirds make it to BOA final round

Fairmont’s Marching Band performed well in the preliminary round at the regional Bands of America competition at Roush Stadium on Oct. 2. The band’s performance won it a spot in the final round that evening, along with 9 other top bands from five states.

The winner of the entire competition was Carmel High School’s Marching Greyhounds from Carmel, Ind. The Centerville Jazz Band took second place, and the Marching Firebirds finished ninth.
