Released in the United Kingdom on May 19, 2008, The Ting Tings’ first album We Started Nothing started the duet’s rise to fame. The album has a wide mix of sounds, including synth-pop, indie rock, dance-wave and new wave. These tones, as well as the musical talent of Jules De Martino and Katie White, contribute to the duet’s success in the music industry.

The album has a great mix of songs, many of which have gone on to become singles, exposing the duet to new audiences. The first singles from the album include That’s Not My Name, Great DJ and Fruit Machine. That’s Not My Name reached No. 1 on the UK’s singles chart five days after they released their album.

This album is one of my favorites, and I’m always happy to hear a song from it featured on a show or to see the duet perform. I love That’s Not My Name and We Walk, and I’m ready for the release of their second album.

The Ting Tings are amazing! Along with Paramore, Rihanna, and Katy Perry, they are one of the few artists that came close to my love for the one and only Lady Gaga (<3)
