Fairmont’s Varsity Softball team wrapped up the 2012 season with a record of 6-16.

“Even though our record wasn’t ideal, we never gave up on the field whether we were winning or losing,” said senior Jenny Sharpe. “It was a building year because we had lost our whole starting lineup from last year. I thought we did pretty well for having a lot of first time varsity players.”

Sharpe was named to the GWOC All Division Team and All Conference First Team.  Sophomore  Taylor Donovon and senior Sierra Breeze earned GWOC special mention.

At the team’s banquet, the following awards were presented: Most Valuable Player: Jenny Sharpe; Most Improved: senior Stacyie Phelps; Sportsmanship: sophomore Emilee Utz; and Coaches’ Award: Sierra Breeze.
