The Fairmont Boys’ Varsity Tennis team wrapped up their spring 2012 season with a disappointing record of 3-17.
“Even though the record didn’t show it, I believe that we still played together as a team and played a sport we loved,” said senior doubles player Paqui Toscano. “The coaches this year were great; they were very lenient with my very packed senior year.”
Toscano finished with a record of 7-6 in doubles play. “My partners that I played with this year with were great. When I played with [junior] Sam Bodary, the chemistry was good from the start. I also enjoyed playing with [senior] Jordan Thomson.”
The team award winners for the 2012 season were Most Valuable Player: junior Adam Wolfe; Most Improved: junior Nathan Bare; Coaches’ Award: junior Sam Bodary; and Sportsmanship Award: senior Paqui Toscano.
