As a Christian I actually get someone perturbed that we/teachers are allowed to talk about other religions, teach off of their stuff, even mythology, however are not allowed to go into anything Christian. God forbid we even mention Christ, however lets go and talk about everything else.

I mean, are we supposed to call a Christmas tree in the classroom a "Holiday Tree" ? It just seems ridiculous that in schools Christians don't have the freedom to express their religion. Are we forcing it on anyone? No. We are just celebrating, and if a celebration can not be tollerated, well then, I guess we really do live in such a sad world.

This is a really wonderful article. I would like to add a little to the debate of Christmas in school.

Matt, all Christians are pretty lousy and messed up. That's why we need Jesus Christ and each other. So don't put yourself down. Jesus sees through your lousiness. To Him, you're beautiful.

Paqui, is Christmas really a strictly Christian holiday? God sent his Son Jesus Christ as a gift to all men. To say Christmas is strictly for Christians is contradictory to the point of baby Jesus.

Not celebrating Christmas is freedom of religion. Being forced to ignore Jesus as a part of CHRISTmas at your school is a violation of freedom of religion. Freedom of Speech and the true America is letting those who believes in Jesus as the true meaning of Christmas talk about it and letting those who celebrate any other type of holiday talk about it, too.

I have to agree with Matt because I know a lot of non-Christians who celebrate Christmas as an American holiday rather than a religious one.
